The California Safer Food Packaging & Cookware Act of 2021 (CA AB 1200) was signed into law on October 5, 2021, and the Colorado PFAS Chemicals Consumer Protection Act of 2022 (CO HB 22-1345) was signed into law on June 3, 2022. These laws require cookware manufacturers to disclose the presence of specific chemicals in handles and food-contact surfaces. CA AB 1200 is a “right to know” for any amount of the AB 1200 chemicals listed. CO HB 22-1345 is a "right to know" for any amount of PFAS.
